A WW2 U-boat crew is stranded in northern Canada. To avoid internment, they must make their way to the border and get into the still-neutral USA.

A damaged U-boat is stranded in a Canadian bay in the early years of World War II. The Fanatical Nazi captain and his crew must reach the neutral United States or be captured. Along the way they meet a variety of characters each with their own views on the war and nationalism. When a German U-Boat is bombe! d and destroyed in 1940, the six-man shore party finds itself with no easy means of escape. They take over the local trading post and their plan is to go south to try and reach the still neutral United States. Along the way, they meet a Hutterite community and learn that their views aren't very popular. The remaining Germans make their way to Winnipeg where the Kommandant decides they should make their way to Vancouver. Now down to three, one of them is captured in Banff and another is killed in the woods leaving only the Kommandant. Now on his own, he makes one last attempt to get to the border. Written by garykmcd
